Sheridan students should graduate prepared to succeed anywhere in the country—and with real opportunities to build a great life right here at home.
As a Wyoming superintendent, principal, and advocate for public education, I’ve seen what happens when schools, families, employers, and communities work together: students discover their strengths, pursue meaningful opportunities, and build futures with purpose.
I’m running to bring that experience, steady judgment, and belief in our community to the Sheridan County School District #2 Board of Trustees.
Why I’m running
Our kids deserve the opportunity to stay.
Too many families watch their children and grandchildren leave Sheridan because they believe opportunity exists somewhere else. Students should absolutely be free to pursue college, careers, and new experiences wherever they choose. But leaving should be a choice—not the only way to build a meaningful future. Our schools can graduate the most qualified students anywhere while connecting them to real opportunities right here.

Use meaningful career exploration, aptitude and interest surveys, and conversations with students and parents to help young people discover what excites them and where their strengths can take them.
Build pathways that lead somewhere
Align academic and technical pathways with real local jobs, employer needs, Sheridan College, and plans for growth in health care, advanced manufacturing, hospitality, and other Sheridan industries.
Put learning to work
Expand internships, apprenticeships, industry certifications, and employer partnerships so students graduate with meaningful experience and a clear path to college, a career, or both.

I understand what it takes to build strong schools because I’ve worked alongside the people who make them possible.
My work as a teacher, principal, and superintendent has included school finance, educational leadership, community partnerships, and preparing students for life after graduation. I helped found the Northern Wyoming Career Pathways Partnership to connect education with the employers and opportunities in our region, developed the Roads to Success speaker series to introduce students to meaningful careers, and have presented nationally on career-connected learning.
This work is not a new campaign promise. It is a commitment I have spent my career putting into practice.

Strong schools need a strong Sheridan
A community where people can
learn, live, work, and play.
Excellent schools do not exist separately from the community around them. Teachers need places they can afford to live. Families need access to good jobs and housing. Graduates need a reason—and a real opportunity—to stay or return.
School board trustees do not control city building codes or housing development, but every elected official has a responsibility to help address the challenges facing our community. The school board should be an active partner with city and county leaders, employers, and Sheridan College in making Sheridan a vibrant, attractive place where great schools, meaningful careers, attainable housing, and outdoor recreation support one another.
